The Animated Series' Creator Is Aware of Fans' Second Season Bingo Cards — And She Has Good News
The much-anticipated Season 2 of the adult animated musical series Hazbin Hotel arrives on the streaming platform soon, and audience theories has been intense.
The first season introduces a large cast of personalities residing in Hell and Heaven, pits them against each other accompanied by musical numbers detailing their conflicts, and establishes heated competitions and angsty, affectionate connections that fuel fan obsession.
The fandom's stated hopes for season 2 vary widely, but certain themes recur frequently: Will Angel Dust escape his tormentor? Will we find out more about the binding agreement constraining Alastor the Radio Demon? Will [favorite character] and [other character] finally get together?
"Obviously, I don't produce the show with audience demands as the main goal," the creator commented recently. "However I feel like me being a devotee of the series implies there's a lot of it just naturally. I also want to see these things, and I hope some of these things to occur, and clearly some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"
She says her big-picture plan is for five seasons of Hazbin Hotel. Seasons 3 and 4 have received approval by the production companies, which produce the series.
That could imply viewers have to wait years for some of the major resolutions — but they may be surprised at how quickly season 2 moves, and how many of what they're anticipating happens this season.
"I believe people are going to get a lot out of it," she adds. "We get some firsts. I think we receive some incredible reveals, some fascinating origin tales, and even just simple things, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] We're going to hear much more singing from the previously silent cast members."
The creator is well-informed of the guesses and hopes about the upcoming season — particularly in the format of fan bingo cards.
"I've seen a few fans make a bingo card about season 2," she mentions. "Obviously I can't post it, but I've actually done a few items, and almost all of them have almost a bingo. I thought, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that leads me to believe we accomplish much [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I realized, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that brings me joy."
Hazbin Hotel the second season launches on the streaming service on October 29.
