The Combat-Oriented Party Introduced
The third episode ended with a major cliffhanger and introduced the premier party of characters who will split off from the central cast to begin their independent quest, separate from the other two tables.
The Soldiers table includes Teor (brought to life by Travis), the nimble rogue (Laura Bailey), the fierce warrior (Whitney Moore), the cleric (Sam Riegel), and the mysterious adventurer (Robbie).
The Reason for Division
With an extensive roster, it was obvious from the outset that keeping everyone at the same party would be unworkable.
This explains, the first four episodes of Campaign 4 serve as an Prelude, intertwining the characters’ stories before branching into three separate parties: Fighters, Strategists, and Explorers.
What Defines the Combat Party
According to the DM, the warrior group is for participants who enjoy a classically intense combat and conflict-driven gameplay experience where non-violent answers are rare.
Initially, characters like the squeamish cleric Wicander Halovar might look unsuited, but the developments of the third episode demonstrate why these five characters are perfectly fit for the combat party.
Motivations for Departure
To begin with, the group understands precisely where to head next after a violent opening clash with the enemy group.
A former ally of Thjazi Fang—whose passing kicked off the campaign’s events—manipulated the foes for his selfish purposes, entering the hidden lair, assaulting the rogue, and swiping all the enchanted items to dispose of.
The antagonist then paid off his obligations and escaped to a fortified location in the remote area, north of the urban center, with Cyd close behind.
Individual Reasons
Additionally, each member has a specific drive to leave the city the metropolitan area:
- The agile hero, as the close ally and trusted friend, desires revenge.
- Kattigan has experience in Timmony and cautions that it is a nasty place.
- The strong character and The cleric, having resisted his house’s orders to eliminate the target and instead saved him, have no other options.
- Yet, their position as prominent individuals in House Halovar could help the team access locations they usually can’t.
- Furthermore, Teor pledged a life debt to The cleric for his deliverance and will now accompany him wherever.
Wanted and Hunted
Lastly, all of them are sought by the powers that rule Dol-Makjar for a multiple motives, making staying in the city dangerous:
- The rogue and The character are recognized lawbreakers.
- The strong figure and Wicander defied the powerful family and the horde of evil beings they are aligned with.
- The target is targeted for elimination by the clan.
This results in them few options but to journey toward the northern region in quest for the traitor.
